The new Tottenham Hotspur home kit design is inspired by the Spur’s legend, Bill Nicholson.
Spurs wore this Umbro produced third shirt during the 1991 to 1994 seasons. This light blue third shirt featured a striped design to the upper front and back that spelled out ‘Spurs’ within the design – see photo above. Holsten were the main kit sponsors.
Tottenham Hotspur has released a new third shirt and kit for the 2013/14 season. The new strip is made by Under Armour and the main kit sponsor for Premier League matches is HP (Hewlett Packard) and for Cup matches will be AIA.
Deserved or not, Spurs’ Gareth Bale has an unenviable but growing reputation as being a ‘diver’. Bale was booked for the second consecutive match for ‘simulation’ in Spurs 3-0 victory over Fulham. However, replays show that there appeared to be some contact between Bale and Fulham’s Steve Sidwell and many have questioned the referee’s decision. There have been suggestions that Bale’s reputation for diving now goes before him and influences the official’s thinking when Bale goes down after a challenge. Continue reading
