Manchester City has released their new European away kit, from kit suppliers, Umbro. We understand the new Premier League Champions will wear the shirt for their Champions League campaign in 2012-13 and some Premier League away games.
The new shirt features black and carbon grey stripes on the body and arms of the kit, and has a vista blue trim on the inner stretch cuffs which are said to reference the team’s home colours as they travel abroad. The same vista blue colour also features on the embroidered Umbro diamond and club crest on the chest, and the sponsor’s logo.
The colours are said to be inspired by kits worn by St. Mark’s (West Gorton) in the 1880s. It will be interesting to hear how City fans feel about the new kit. Feedback we’ve seen to date seems to be pretty positive.
