Here is the new Chelsea away shirt and kit for the 2013/14 season. The new strip is made by Adidas and Samsung are the kit sponsors. The Adidas launched the new kit with the slogan, “It’s not white, it’s blue.” Chelsea has recently announced the return of Jose Mourinho as manager of the club and this will be the away kit for his first season back in charge.
The new away kit launch follows the home kit launch under the “It’s blue, what else matters” campaign – see here. The new kit will be worn in select away matches throughout the 2013/14 season.
The new away design is primarily white, with blue and red trim. This is the sixth time a Chelsea away kit has featured this colour scheme and it pays homage to the club’s white kits with blue and red trim worn during the 1960’s. The use of red makes a return with its first appearance on a kit since the 2010/11 season’s home shirt.
Early reaction to the new strip seems to be largely positive. Many comments we’ve seen refers to the kit as being ‘classy’.
