The new home kit is said to be inspired by one of the club’s most successful periods. Both the red and the blue featured throughout the kit is a darker shade than usual and they represent the colours Atletico wore in the 1965/66 season when they won the Spanish Cup and Spanish League Title.
The home shirt features the traditional red and white stripes, the shorts are blue and the socks are red with white detail.
The new home shirt is primarily yellow with dark blue side panels. The new away shorts are blue with yellow detail and the socks are yellow with blue detail.
Both the home and away shirts feature a label inside the neck which reads: “110 Años de Leyenda 1903 – 2013 A Team for the World” to honour the club’s 110 year anniversary. On the back of the shirt is a small Spanish flag also bearing the club’s name to celebrate national pride.
Both these kits have been very well received by the fans, judging from early comments we’ve seen to date. What do you think? Comments welcome below.
